Ritu, I love your new goals, if I may call them so. I wish you a fulfilling year personally and as a reader and the best of health for your family.

Thank you so much, Sonia. Sometimes we just need to go back to the basics. Hope 2025 is kinder.

I see a method in this approach to reading. Quite inspiring.
All the best for your reading goals for 2025.

I am so relieved to know that Aunty has recovered and our book club is also revived after a lull.
I really like your plan though I was expecting a mega round up of 2024 books and recommendations. This is exactly I try to go about with books acquired.

My Gawd Ritu, this is the best reading-goals post I’ve read, maybe because it aligns with my goals too. I too am trying to review every book I read and I utterly love the idea of a literary map. I’d love it also if you share your Hindi reading. I know only two languages and it’s sad if I read in just one of them. Looking forwrad to being with you on your reading journey.

Oh Ritu, I’m so glad things are finally looking hopeful. Hugs.

I haven’t created any TBR list this year. Not participating in any reading challenge except for the Goodreads challenge just to keep track of my reading. I’ll be reading what I want, at my own pace. I am also fascinated by the books from the Northeast. I have read Janice Pariat, and I love her writing.

Donating books is a good idea. And I also try to review every book (not necessarily on my blog), except for the books I don’t like. I just quietly remove them from my reading list.

Take care, Ritu, and stay well. Best wishes.

The literary map sounds like a grand idea. Looking forward to that. I also dropped the idea of book challenges, as I found it really tiring to keep looking for books that matched the prompt. I plan to finish my long TBR, so much lying unread for me this year. Let’s see what all changes I undergo as the year moves on.

Parents falling sick is never a happy thought. Sending you lots of love and blessings that your mom’s health continues to improve. Kudos to you for creating a roadmap for yourself for this year. Sometimes, going back to activities that bring us joy and help settle the overwhelm a little. I look forward to your recommendations in 2025 🙂

That’s a pretty lot of goals. Great. Good luck too.

Since I’m retiring from regular job in March, I’ve set two goals vis-à-vis books. 1. Read a lot, 2. Write about those books.

I loved reading this post of yours, Ritu.

2024 certainly challenged you and I hope 2025 is kinder.

I chuckled at the phrase, “As for book-buying bans, I am not into them. Can’t do. Won’t do. Period.” This is so me! I don’t think I will ever be able to do a book-buying ban, but yes, I am consciously trying to read the books I already have before buying new ones.
I am looking forward to more bookish recommendations from you in 2025. You are one of the book bloggers whose reviews are always well-balanced and, dare I say, trustworthy!
    Happy reading in 2025!

I recently sent some books to a friend and asked her to further donate them to someone who loves reading. Next day another friend gave me 2 books to read. I’m naturally surrounded by bibliophiles I guess! Hahaha!

glad to hear things are better now. I really like the decision of donating books. I too have decided to donate popular books to young students. They are in pristine or half-read condition and I truly want the book to go to someone who will wear it out over the many years.

Sending strength to your mom and you. And I hope your brother has recovered too. Your reading goals sound nice and gentle — and remind me that I should also go through my TBR and remove the books that I know I’m no longer interested in reading!
